Requirements and Use Cases
Analytical studies of system behavior, which depend on accurate modeling of overhead lines and cables, require the corresponding input data in the form of complex equivalent circuit diagrams and frequency-dependent elements. The planning and operating process provides the user with the information in the physical characteristic values of the conductors, insulators and insulation materials, as well as the geometric arrangement. It is necessary to convert the physics into an electrical equivalent circuit diagram for the different calculation types of the PSS®SINCAL Platform.
Solution
The calculation of electrical parameters of overhead lines and cables (LEIKA) from geometrical arrangements and material characteristic values is made possible by the PSS®SINCAL Platform. The determined parameters serve as input data for load flow, short circuit, influence calculation and other calculation methods.
Element and Controller Modelling
Use these modules to calculate parameters of overhead lines and cables, leverage an intuitive model editor for user-defined models in steady-state and dynamic analysis as well as linkage with user-defined subsystems (DLL), and access the extensive dynamic model library.
