The MiCOM Px30 devices are a series of Rail CatenaryProtection Devices.The P638 provides Transformer Differential Protection.

The MiCOM P638 has a proven record in providing comprehensive protection andcan be applied to a wide range of applications.  The user-friendlyinterface and several communication ports allows simple configuration and itsflexibility means that it can be customized to the user’s requirements.

Four setting groups,simple configuration, extensive information polling

The MiCOM P638 enables a wide range of applications toprotect supplies and catenaries in classic and autotransformer-fed (AT)systems. With easy connection to virtually all substation and catenary networkmanagement systems, P638 is enhanced by a complete range of backup protectionand automation functions.

Four independent setting groups, with user-friendly control interface, storeprotection parameters and enable simple configuration to different operatingconditions or alternative feeding. Extensive polling of information is alsopossible.

MiCOM P638 also features InterMiCOM teleprotection, typically used to exchangebinary information between line ends. With its modular design, the P638 isavailable for rack, flush panel or wall surface mounting.

Flexibility and easy integration for customizedapplications

User-friendly MiCOM P638 is equipped with 1A/5A softwaresetting, both supported in a single device, and two remote communicationinterfaces. It also benefits from InterMiCOM teleprotection interface. Userscan customize the P638 to their own applications. Highly flexible, it can beeasily integrated within various substation protective schemes.
