Siemens Siprotec 4 Siprotec 7SA522 Distance Protection Relay ForTransmission Lines

The SIPROTEC 7SA522 relay provides full-scheme distanceprotection and incorporates all functions usually required for the protectionof a power line. The relay is designed to provide fast and selective faultclearance on transmission and sub-transmission cables and overhead lines withor without series capacitor compensation. The power system star point can besolid or resistance grounded (earthed), resonant-earthed via Peterson coil orisolated.The SIPROTEC 7SA522 is suitable for single-pole and three-poletripping applications with and without the (pilot) protection schemes.TheSIPROTEC 7SA522 incorporates several protective functions usually required fortransmission line protection:-High-speed tripping time-Suitable for cables andoverhead lines with or without series capacitor compensation-Self-setting powerswing detection for power swing frequencies up to 7 Hz- Digital relay-to-relaycommunication for two and three terminal topologies-Adaptive auto-reclosure(ADT)
